Camp Staff
Every January the application process begins for young people who desire employment at Camp Frenda. The question is, why do so many young people every year submit applications, cross their fingers, text their friends, and pray earnestly about the application process? Is working at Frenda just like every other summer job: long days, no fun, and little money? Why not just simply vegetate after a long and trying school year?
The answer is simple: Frenda is a great place! The opportunity to serve others, make new friends, and grow spiritually closer in a relationship with Jesus sums it up, but there is much more. One Camp Frenda staff member described his summer work experience as being "the best summer job on earth." I have said it numerous times: when you enjoy your work, then you never work a day in your life. Think about it--naturally sun-tanning under the hot Muskoka sunrays, skiing on beautiful Lake Rosseau, horseback riding through wooded trails, swimming and somersaulting off of the trampoline into a refreshing lake, warming up in the lakeside sauna, great food three times a day, and sharing Jesus and his love daily with children and young people around a warm and glowing campfire. As it has been said before, Camp Frenda offers the best summer job on earth.
In 2012, Frenda will need 45 young people who love camp ministries, who love working with young people, but more importantly love Jesus Christ with all of their heart, soul, and mind--in other words, passionately and completely. Working at camp is not a job, but a ministry. It is not a summer gig, but a life-changing experience with results that will last for eternity.
