2010 - clean up week volunteers
Volunteers are welcomed at Camp Frenda! The volunteer “work to stay and play” program is offered to adults beginning at the age of 20 years old. The adult volunteer reports directly to and is responsible to the camp director. The volunteer will be assigned to an area based upon their stated interest and areas of need as identified by the camp director. This arrangement must be worked out before arrival at camp. The most common areas for volunteer service include: maintenance, grounds, kitchen, and housekeeping departments. Occasionally help with classes is needed, especially when the volunteer has an expertise in a specific class that requires additional adult help.
A volunteer can expect to “work” for half the day and “play” for half the day. During their “play” times, volunteers are not to interfere with scheduled classes or distract staff from completing their assignments. Volunteers with children at camp must refrain from disturbing their child’s unit unless arrangements have been made with the class instructor or counselors. Under age non-camping children are not permitted with volunteers. Camp age children of volunteers are expected to pay the regular camp fees. The camp program caters to children ages 8-16. Volunteers can expect to be fed and lodged in exchange for their work at camp.
